<p>世界衛生組織制定《2017-2025年公共衛生應對失智症全球行動》計畫中，不健康飲食被列入失智症的危險因子，健康均衡的飲食型態如地中海飲食、得舒飲食、麥得飲食等，則是維持腦部健康的飲食方式。《阿茲海默症與失智症》期刊曾發現，遵循麥得飲食的人罹患阿茲海默風險降低53%，與同年齡相比認知功能退化速度緩慢，大腦年輕7.5歲，猶如讓大腦凍齡7年半。</p>
<p>麥得飲食(Mediterranean-DASH Intervention for Neurodegenerative Delay)是結合得舒飲食及地中海飲食而延伸的一種飲食型態。麥得飲食則結合兩種飲食並強調天然，以植物性食物為主，特別提倡莓果類和綠色葉菜類蔬菜，和限制攝取動物性食物和含高飽和脂肪食物。</p>
<p>台安醫院營養師陳俞均也於《臺安醫訊》指出，麥得飲食又稱心智飲食，為大腦健康飲食，非常重視攝取大量的綠葉蔬菜、堅果和莓果，因其具有神經保護作用。2022年《Nutrients》期刊也明確列出麥得飲食中，十種對大腦健康有益的食物；以及五種傷腦食物。陳俞均營養師也整理出護腦與傷腦食物的種類與吃的頻率。</p>
